SIM stands for set interrupt mask, It has one machine cycle. During its execution bits 0-5 of the accumulator are used in programming the restart interrupt masks. The Interrupts are enabled/disabled according to the bit pattern of accumulator. Bits 6 and 7 are used for serial data output. This is also used for serial data transmission.
