BCCI Stands for "Board of Control for Cricket in India (Board of Control for Cricket in India)". The BCCI is a committee that regulates all cricket related activities in India.
BCCI was constituted in December 1928 under the Tamil Nadu Society Registration Act. Today it has become a government institution and it is one of the most common board in the world. Its headquarters are present in the city of Mumbai.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was established on 4 December 1928 by a group of cricket players at the Roshanara Club in Delhi to abolish the British Monopoly (monopoly) in Indian cricket. The BCCI is registered as a society under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. In its early days there were 6 Regional Bodies members. The British businessman Grant Govan, who played a key role in the formation of the BCCI, was the first President of the BCCI.
De Mello was the first Secretary of the BCCI. BCCI was recognized by the ICC as a full member after 5 months of its establishment. Lord K., UK had the distinction of being the captain of India's first Test match in 1932 C. K. Nayudu. From 1932 to 1951, the Indian cricket team could not win any Test matches. The Indian cricket team won its first Test match against England in 1951-51 by an innings and 8 runs in Chennai. A year later, India won its first series against Pakistan. The Indian cricket team of the BCCI won their first overseas cricket series win against New Zealand 3–1 in 1967–68.
After this, when India won the 1983 Cricket World Cup, the BCCI, realizing the importance of the occasion, bid with Pakistan to organize the 1987 World Cup. The ICC approved it and the 1987 Cricket World Cup was organized by India and Pakistan together which was very successful. This increased the importance of BCCI in the cricket world. The efficient administration of BCCI and the increasing popularity of cricket in India has given a new dimension to cricket. The Indian team also showed their strength once again by winning the 2011 World Cup. The 2011 World Cup was also held in India.
With this, BCCI has started the Franchisee format of cricket all over the world by organizing popular cricket competition like IPL. BCCI finds sponsors for finance very comfortable with whom BCCI has tied up. BCCI also gets 3-4% of the surplus earnings of ICC which is in hundreds of millions of dollars. The BCCI does not seek financial help from the Indian government. Revenue of BCCI has been more than Rs 3000 crores. It is estimated that 95% of BCCI's earnings are made only from IPL. This includes sponsor rights, broadcast rights, media rights, and Kit rights etc. BCCI gives 250 crore rupees every year to all IPL teams.
BCCI is made up of 30 Affiliated Members, representing the Indian states, some former princely states and three Central Bodies Railways, Services and All India Universities. The states are divide into Zones for convenience. Currently C.K. Khanna is the President of BCCI. The BCCI has a selection committee/panel whose main job is to select the Indian cricket team.
